About Caroline Myss

Personal transformation, healing and the study of power and mysticism defines the work of Caroline Myss.

Her own transformation began when she left a successful career in journalism to get a master’s degree in theology. She followed this by starting Stillpoint Publishing which specialised in books about alternative therapies. At this stage it was, Caroline admits, more a business endeavour than a personal passion. But then life then took her by surprise.

“I was not at all primed for a mystical experience,” she says in her bestselling book, Anatomy of the Spirit.

Caroline was becoming increasingly aware of her perceptual abilities. “For instance, a friend would mention that someone he knew was not feeling well, and an insight into the cause of the problem would pop into my head. I was uncannily accurate and word of it spread through the local community.”

30 years on and she has changed the lives of millions of people.

As a medical intuitive, Caroline can sense if someone is ailing, how soon they will become ill, why they will get ill and where the illness will likely develop. She also specialises in helping people to understand the emotional, psychological and physical reasons behind an illness.

Caroline states ‘Your biography becomes your biology’. In other words, if you don’t heal your spirit, you are endangering your physical body and putting yourself at great risk for illness and disease. She encourages individuals to focus their attention on learning to interpret their life’s challenges symbolically – and find meaning in them.

Marrying mysticism with action, Caroline’s work is unique. She teaches about the ‘unseen’ world through practical and tangible lessons. She helps people to be honest with themselves, with others, and most importantly, with their soul.

“The journey is about becoming mystics outside of the monastery.”
– Caroline Myss

Her work has opened the doors for many health professionals to practice medicine differently. In 1996, she and Harvard-trained neurosurgeon Norman Shealy, MD, PhD, founded the Institute for the Science of Medical Intuition, which funds research in the field. Caroline partners with doctors and provides them with intuitive information that can help them better serve their patients.

In 2003, Caroline established her own educational institute, CMED (Caroline Myss Education), which offers a range of programs devoted to personal development, spirituality and human consciousness research.

Her New York Times bestsellers include Anatomy of the Spirit, Why People Don’t Heal and How They Can, Sacred Contacts, Entering the Castle and now, Defy Gravity - Healing Beyond the Bounds of Reason.
